With a passion to provide superior client representation and to ensure that justice is served, Richard H. Sirjoo founded his legal practice, Richard H. Sirjoo & Co., in 1995 on the principles of caring, professionalism and quality.
Over the past two decades, Richard has also established a powerful reputation as a businessman and philanthropist with a vested interest in the development of the Chaguanas community. In addition to his private practice as an attorney, Richard holds the following positions:
- Director on the Board of the Chaguanas Chamber of Industry and Commerce where he was Past President [2000 – 2002].
- Chairman of the Crime and Public Safety Committee on the Board of the Chaguanas Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
- President of the Chaguanas Lions Club and has held other posts including Director
- Board Member of Presentation College Chaguanas, serving on the School’s Management and Advisory Committee.
- Founder of Global Properties
A past student of Presentation College, Chaguanas, Richard holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (Hons) from the University of the West Indies, a Post Graduate Legal Education Certificate from the Hugh Wooding Law School and a Masters in Business Administration from the UWI Institute of Business. In his spare time, he favors East Indian Music, Bhajans, movies and reading.

Ms. Guiness joined the firm after completing her legal studies in July, 2020. She achieved her Bachelor’s Degree in Law with First Class Honours from the University of the West Indies in July, 2018. She then attained her Legal Education Certificate in September, 2020, graduating on the Principal’s Roll of Honour at the Hugh Wooding Law School, where she also demonstrated her leadership skills after serving as her class representative.
Ms. Guiness engaged in her in-service training for the period June, 2019 to August, 2019 at Richard H. Sirjoo & Co. She was admitted to the Bar of Trinidad and Tobago as an Attorney-at-Law on 11th December, 2020 and practises in Civil Litigation, Estates and Family Law matters at the firm.
KRISTEN SHANIA BANSRAJ, Attorney-at-Law

Ms. Bansraj is the newest member of the firm. She joined in January, 2023, after being admitted to practise as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Judicature of Trinidad and Tobago in November, 2022. She achieved her Bachelor’s Degree in Law with Honours from the University of the West Indies in July, 2020. She then attained her Legal Education Certificate in September, 2022. Her interests in practise include: Conveyancing, Estates, Family Law and Civil Litigation.
Apart from law, Ms. Bansraj is also passionate about singing which she has done from the tender age of 5. She represented her primary school in Calypso competitions where she sang original pieces and now has her own YouTube channel.
NANKUMARIE SAMAROO, Office Manager & Commissioner of Affidavits
Mrs. Samaroo brings to the firm over 4 decades of experience in the management and operations of law offices. Her passionate and practical insight adds tremendous value to the firm, always seeking innovative and creative ways to improve and enhance efficiency, productivity and office comradery. In addition to Ms. Samaroo’s role of Office Manager, she is also a licensed Commissioner of Affidavits.
CHERRY ANN AZIZ, Senior Legal Secretary
Mrs. Aziz has been with the firm for over 15 years and brings with her a wealth of experience. Her meticulous nature and hands on approach promotes a fluid and professional dispensation of legal services.
SHANTEE THOMAS, Legal Secretary & Accounts Clerk
Ms. Thomas has been with the firm for approximately 12 years, her attention to detail and expertise in accounting renders her an invaluable asset to the firm. Her easy-going nature and ready smile, promotes excellent customer relations.
ADEL PITT, Paralegal/Law Clerk
Mr. Pitt joined the firm in July, 2020 as a Law Clerk. In addition to his portfolio of Law Clerk, Mr. Pitt is actively involved in the Real Estate Department of the firm. In this short time, Mr. Pitt has demonstrated a heightened sense of proficiency in the execution of his duties. He is always willing to go the extra mile to get the job done. A true team player, we continue to expect great things from him in the future.
